New Year, New Theme, New section

I decided to update our theme and try to make it look a little cleaner. I like this one, I hope Jennie will grow to love it. Let us know what you think.

Also I have added a plugin that ties into our flickr account. There is now a photos page you can check out.

Have fun and have a great new year!

Weezer Christmas

Weezer has a 6 song Christmas EP available on iTunes and Amazon. Support them, they need your money. And they need to put out a good album…burn.

Happy Birfday Jeff. Yes your birfday always comes second to the weez, but atleast I gave you your own category on the blog.

Sugar Cookie Tree

Jennie and I saw a ginger bread house kit at Wal-Mart and I really wanted to get it, but it was like 20 bucks, and with financial apocalypse upon us, we decided to save our money for bread and water. Then later in the next aisle we saw a similar Christmas tree kit that was made with star ginger bread cookies. It was pretty cool looking and only 15 bucks. But alas for some reason in the past 6 months I have become uber cheap, so I said forget it.

Earlier this week Jennie bought some sugar cookie stuff, so we decided to use that to make our own Christmas tree. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Below are some pics of the hot Christmas tree action.

Christmas time

Chad and I feel so blessed to have our house.  We love living here.  We have really been looking forward to decorating it for Christmas, so as soon as we got back after Thanksgiving, we hauled out all the decorations.  It was lots of fun, and now our house feels more festive.  Last year after Christmas, we bought a bunch of stuff on clearance.  Every time I pulled something else out of a bag or unwrapped it from tissue paper, it was like opening a present.

Last year, Chad got me a stocking with my initial on it in rhinestones.  We got it out and hung it up on the mantle. It looked so lovely, but then I realized we won’t have matching stockings.  The big fuzzy red ones are going to look funny next to mine.  Oh well, I thought, we’ll just have to look for something close.  Later, as I was looking through our clearance items, I pulled out another bag and low and behold, there was a stocking that matched mine with a rhinestone “C.”

We love sitting in our home with no lights on but the lights from the tree. Here are some pictures of our decorations.

Did you hear me?

Does anyone listen to 88.1 Way FM in the morning?  The show is “Mornings with Brant.”  If you were listening yesterday around 7:20, you might have heard me on the radio.  I was the one who won the kamikaze karaoke.  Brant played his accordion and sang a line from Little Drummer Boy.  “Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum”  Two people before me guessed, but were wrong.  Then, when they got to me, I sang “The ox and lamb kept time, ba rum bum bum bum.”  He acted like he wasn’t going to give it to me because I said “ba rum bum bum bum” instead of “pa rum pum pum pum,” but they eventually decided that I won!  I won a CD, but I don’t even know what it is yet.  I thought that was cool because it’s not just a local station or anything.  The best part was that they recorded it during a commercial break so I had time to call Chad and tell him to turn it to 88.1 and he was able to listen to it.  Anyway, did anybody else hear me?

Giggles

I normally don’t go to bed before midnight at least 4 nights out of the week at a minimum. Jennie is in bed most of time before or around 10:30 every night. A couple nights ago I was on my way to bed about 12:30 and Jennie had been in bed and asleep for at least an hour. I turned off all the lights in the house as usual and walked through the dark to the bedroom.

When I got to the bedroom door and opened it, Jennie was giggling. I said,  “What are you laughing at?”

Her response, “He He He…noises”.

I walked up to her in the dark where she was lying down and went to kiss her. She leaned up and kissed me, but then, and here is the weird and awesome part, she reached her arms out and started tickling me around my chest and ribs making funny gibberish noises.

I was cracking up. I turned on the bathroom light, and said, “Are you ok? What are you doing?”

She said, “What are you doing? Why are you waking me up and turning on lights?”

So I realized that she had finally actually woken up.

Yes, my wife sleep tickled me.

A Night of Mystery

Monday afternoon, Chad sent me an email telling me that he had plans for a date on Thursday night, but it was a surprise. Fortunately, Chad is not very good at keeping secrets from me, so by Tuesday, I knew the plans- a murder mystery dinner!

So tonight we went to the L & N Depot and watched the performance put on by the Fountain Square Players. We went through different cable cars to hear from all the different suspects. It was fun. The mystery was set in the 1950s, so guests were encouraged to dress from that era. It’s a good thing that Chad broke down and told me where we were going. It was funny when we first got there because we didn’t see anybody dressed up, and we thought everybody was going to be staring at us. No one did though and more showed up in dress as the night went on. There was a prize for the people who had the best outfit. Chad and I could have totally won that, but we didn’t.  I wore a skirt, cardigan, and a scarf around my neck, and Chad wore his letter jacket from high school. I have to admit, we were cute.

There was another prize for whoever could solve the mystery. Chad and I thought it was the financial advisor, Aldo Soldi, and we were right. Everyone who solved it correctly got their name put in a basket and then they drew the winner. Guess who it was? That’s right, it was me and Chad. Well, technically, it was Chad’s paper (we both turned one in) but we are a team. The prize? A necklace. Yeah, that’s right a necklace. I know it’s kind of weird prize, but apparently it was designed by a local silversmith especially for the event and has a retail value of $145. It’s not really me, so I don’t know what we are going to do with it yet, but it’s neat that we won.

Chad did a great job planning a wonderful date night. It was lots of fun and memorable. Thanks, Chad. I love you!
